MSQ Update – Weinam Street Jetty repairs

Jul 24, 2026 | Club News

Weinam Street Jetty repairs, Redland Bay: July to late September 2026

Project update – Weinam Street Jetty repairs, Redland Bay

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) will undertake important repair works to the Weinam Street Jetty at Redland Bay to maintain the facility in good working order and ensure it remains safe and fit for purpose for years to come.

The project will support marine safety, maintain access for recreational users, and ensure the jetty continues to meet the needs of the Redland Bay community.

Scope of works
The scope of works includes repairs to jetty concrete elements, fender pile repairs, and minor works including lighting repairs, water tap maintenance and mooring cleat replacement.

Timing and access during the works – effective mid-July 2026

  • Mid-July 2026: onsite works to commence following the busy July school holiday period
  • Late-September 2026: expected completion, weather and conditions permitting.

A full temporary closure of the jetty will be required to ensure public safety and efficient delivery.

Alternative recreational boating access is located at the Redland City Council owned boat ramps and floating walkway at Weinam Creek approximately 2kms south of the Weinam Street Jetty.

Construction hours
Works will generally be undertaken between 6:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday.

Noise and safety during construction
Noise levels will remain within normal construction ranges. Short periods of increased noise may occur depending on the equipment in use.

Please exercise extra caution around the worksite – both landside and in-water – and follow all directions from the contractor’s site supervisor and temporary signage.

MSQ would like to thank the community for its patience and cooperation during this important work.

A Notice to Mariners will be issued closer to the start of works and will be located here: Brisbane: Notices to Mariners – Dataset – Publications | Queensland Government
